giraffes, gorillas and penguins!

My best friend Rossi gave me tickets from her City Pass to the Woodland Park Zoo. We HAD to go! Luckily, we both had Wednesday off before our vacation that we were able to go. I kind of think zoo’s are lame, mostly because all the animals are usually sleeping or not in site. But we actually got lucky with most of the animals! River Otters, we missed you! :(

I went on the website to see if they were having any good children's programs happening that day. The only thing that caught my eye was a giraffe feeding! I love giraffes. I collect them! I was a little nervous about Olivia being close to something so big, and getting scared. She was a little nervous, but she did great! There was even a smaller giraffe there with her name! :)

Olivia is just tall enough to see over the wall. It was fun to really see her take everything in. She even pointed out animals.

For a dollar! (really, do we always have to pay to do everything cool? Freakin’ zoo, you’re killin’ me!) you got a stick with some seeds on it. And you go into this bird area and the birdies hop onto your stick!

Um… lets put any kind of bird on my fear list. I hate them! They are so sketchy! Hence my face in the 3rd picture. bleeghhh!

The new penguin exhibit is gorgeous! So awesome to get to be even closer to the animals. They were very fun and loved being watched!

We had a blast! Olivia didn’t get a nap the WHOLE time but wasn’t whiney at all. We decided to eat lunch on the way home, we put Olivia in her seat, and with in 5 minutes on Aurora Ave, she was out!

Keeping up with the Archi’s..

I know, lack of posts big time on my end. I’ve been really busy. I got a promotion at work. I’m a PIC/CH {person in charge, closer helper} and so I work 330 to 12 AM. Which means I get up later and start my day and don’t have much time for blogging or the blogger world. {sorry for my lack of comments <33} So, anyways, I’m at least going to put up all my favorite pictures from the last couple of weeks :) I’m also posting this a day before because I don’t want to be a goober and have 2 posts in one day. Deal? Deal.

Lately, Mike and I have been walking  around the lake. It’s a pretty easy walk and we don’t have to carry Olivia, she can run around by herself. It’s been a lot of fun and really good exercise for us.  We’ve also been walking down to the park, which Olivia likes waaay more! Because of course, there is a slide at that park and she is a big girl and can go down it all by herself.

Is it bad I only posted this picture because I thought I was having a really good hair day and I feel like my legs are going on for miles?? No? Okay than.. {just don't look at my double chin.. that just happens when I look down.. promise}

Like mother, like daughter.

I am thankful for my OWN insurance. For coffee and caramel chocolate creamer. And that my husband doesn’t mind that fact that I’m a raging lunatic throughout this whole “trying to have another baby” thing. Wait.. Did I just spill the beans!? Yup!! We are trying to have another bug! We’ll see. You know, it kinda creeps me out when I say, we’re trying. Because we all KNOW about the birds and the bees. Just don’t think about it that way okay?  But for sure, I’ll show everyone my pee stick. Duh!  

Olivia is really into reading lately. She will bring me a book and want to read it over and over. Lately, it’s been Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can you? And Elmo’s Easter Parade. Lord, I cant tell you how many times I’ve hid Elmo. I HATE that he talks in 3rd person and I usually change it to say “I want” instead of “Elmo wants”…

 

My girl, Shanna had a link from Good Stuff Maynard on her blog, we totally made Crispy Zucchini Coins. They were DELICIOUS! My hubby doesn’t even like zucchini and he ate them all up!

We just got back from the zoo and the beach! We had a blast! 

why do i suck?

I was sitting down to write my blog and  I started to think about what I really wanted this blog to be about. I visit some really amazing blogs on a daily basis, some of them are amazing, fun and I cant help but read the back posts to really get to know them. My favorites are probably everyone else’s favorites too.

Ms. Elizabeth Marie is hilarious. I love her. She has 4564756 followers and still finds time in her crazy life to comment on my blog.. 

&& All these lovely ladies that I follow – who I feel like I’m BFF with because I read their blogs everyday..

But I’m still stuck in a rut. Because, I’m a trend loving, do-gooder, running, crazy, momma, wife, and daughter. Which means my posts are always going to be all over the place and there is nothing I can do about it. So, from now on, I’m all over the board. I suck at grammar, I love my family more than anything and I can always squeeze out 40 more dollars from our checking account on something I need.

Hopefully through all the whining, happiness and smiley faces :) everyone will stick with me :)

Do you like my new header up there? I really really do. Now, if I could only be a html genius and get the rest of it all pretty, I would be a winner.  I guess I could always pay someone to do it. {honey, look away} Maybe I’ll do that… when I’m not on spending freeze 2009.

I’m going to be vain for a couple minutes. I looked really pretty yesterday. Like, I was having a good skin/hair/face day. I sent my BFF a crappy Q'uey picture, and she even said I looked hot. YES! If you can look good in those crappy photos, you are smokin’! Too bad the only thing that I had to do that day was go see Dr. Johnson.. *sigh*

       

I have found the greatest invention ever! Okay, I really like eyeliner. Just a little smudge on the corners of my eyes right on my lash line. I have really long eyelashes, but they aren’t very thick. I was walking around rite-aid looking at the makeup {because, what else do you get at rite-aid? nothing except for maybe a 2lb bag of swedish fish.Do you remember when it was call  payless?} Anyways! I found this! NYC Waterproof Eyeliner! For 3.99 but I had a dollar off coupon that I got in All You Magazine. It’s sweat proof and amazing and lasted all day at work. It is perfect! :) I’m going to test it when I go running later. I might even attempt it at the lake.

Sorry I have been crappy blog friend. My Momma was here for 4 days! It was awesome! We went to the lake, Mike and I got to go on a date to the movies. {ps. The Awful Truth, is hilarious!} and we got some great girl time :) Love you Momma! :)

25 Incredible Facts about Me!

1. My Daddy has called me Smash for as long as I could remember. He also calls me darlin' and it makes my heart melt.
2. My favorite beverages are coffee with cream, and Beringer white zinfandel wine oh an occasional diet coke.
3. My favorite animal is a giraffe.
4. I use to have a guinea pig named Cocoa. He was the best damn guinea pig, and i left one summer and came back and he was gone. I think my dad ate him still .. to this day. {he says he didn't but that what he gets for joking about it all the time}
5. I love pictures. I can never have enough photos hanging around the house. My all time favorite picture is a picture of my Daddy and I at my grandparents wedding, giving each other an Eskimo kiss
6. I have 6 best friends. Mom, Melissa, Mike, Megs, Susan and Gretchen.
7. I love running. When I'm pissed off, I will run until I cant breathe anymore and my problems go away.
8. I've been keeping a journal since I was in the 2nd grade. I owe it all to a book called Amelia's Notebook.
9. Mike and I met at Super One. He use to throw dough balls at me. I use to think he was an arrogant ass hole.
10. I no longer think that. He is my best friend and the only one that truly knows my heart.
11. I love my gap. I've photoshopped it out of pictures and decided that I look the best with it.

23. I love planning parties! it thrills me to coordinate and have an amazing party for not so much money.

Rest of the film..

I think I’m hooked on this whole film idea. Maybe not all the time, but just when we go somewhere fun or out of the norm. I really love the look of most of the photos. Some of them, i go “what the heck!?” but I really love them!

One of our favorite places to go is Lions Rock. I don’t really quite know the origin of the place. Let me tell you, there is no lion shaped rock. That’s what I thought, when Mike took me there for the first time. I looked at him and said “Where’s the lion rock!?” No.. it’s just an old military seal on a rock…  But, it’s above the valley and the sunset is breathtaking.

No, I’m not filling a dinosaur thermos with Franzia. Don't judge me.

Olivia LOVES to go “bye bye” My favorite part is that she gathers all her friends {doggie, waddles the penguin, giraffe, and dinosaur} and her blankie! We’ve limited to one friend and the blankie. My arms aren’t that big!

Can you believe that I made these!?!? I used this pattern and totally rocked it! The pattern was so easy and I suck at sewing! :) No, I’m not having a baby :( {maybe soon} But my friends/customers had a little girl :) I also made 3 burp clothes with a fabric trim. The baby is a month old and.. these still sit in my locker! :) Maybe I will see them Sunday! :)
